In this keynote for an international conference in Berlin / Germany in 2014 by Kinderwelten, NGO for Anti-Bias Education in Germany, Louise Derman-Sparks defines "group identity" and shows how young children build their identities with reference to social groups and how societal dynamics affect the construction of social identities. She draws on implications for Anti-Bias Pedagogy and gives suggestions how to create a culture of inclusion in childcare centres.
